High Adventure

Every summer, the troop offers a high-adventure outing in addition to summer camp. In general, this outing is open to boys who have achieved the First Class rank and also have earned pertinent merit badges, such as First Aid and Swimming (for a water-based high adventure).

High Adventure 2022

We are planning a rafting trip for the summer of 2022. A lot is still fluid, but we hope to nail down a lot of the details this spring. Here’s what we know so far:

  • Dates: August 14-20
  • Location: Missouri River – start at headwaters and move north to Great Falls – this is a slow moving part of the river, so no real white water – fishing should be great
  • Cost: TBD
  • Requirements: This trip will be available to all Scouts and their families. Scouts who have earned the rank of First Class and the Swimming merit badge may attend on their own. Scouts who have not earned those to awards will need to attend with a parent.
  • Other: We are planning some side trips that will make this a memorable trip. Two possibilities are the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls and Gold Panning/Mining.
