Follow up from last weekend’s camp out and Merit Badges:
Astronomy: because the counselor was a last-minute fill-in please just have your scout complete their worksheet. We will work on getting in touch with the fill-in counselor for more instructions. Several requirements (including constellation observations) were covered.
Aviation: What a fantastic Saturday we had at Fowler’s Field with Mr. Amestoy and Mr. Maclachlan teaching the aviation badge with airplanes parked right next to us! We completed all requirements except requirement 4. Mrs. Reuter has their partial blue cards with the advancement files. To complete the badge, your Scout needs to fill out the worksheet for requirement #4 and present it to Mrs. Reuter (optional – take a pic of where you toured) at the kitchen counter on any Tuesday meeting night to get signed off.
Ideas for Patrol Leaders to plan a patrol activity could include a Star Party, as covered in the Astronomy Merit Badge, or one of the upcoming council events listed on our Troop Calendar. Additionally, Eastern Washington Orienteering Club is having a weekend of orienteering events at Riverside State Park on June 22-25.
National Youth Leadership Council is occurring June 20-25. This is a fantastic opportunity for your scout age 13+ with rank of 1st class or above to learn a ton about leadership. Mr. Mick is looking for three scouts who are interested in attending. Please talk to Mr. Mick if you would like to attend or have any questions.
We are still looking for volunteers to lead the colorguard for the Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday, May 6. Please sign up at the next Tuesday meeting.
Next week will be advancement week. Please come having practiced the skills you need to achieve next rank!
