Mrs. Walter is a merit badge counselor for the Reading and Sports merit badges. Summer is a great time for scouts to take advantage of the opportunity to earn them. Reading could be earned while a lot of students are in the midst of their summer reading assignments. Scouts are also likely fulfilling a lot of the requirements if they are participating in fall sports training or any summer reading programs, including pre-reading for fall classes at school.
